Allow me to (re)introduce myself…
Hello one and all, and welcome to F.P.Dawe.com
It feels weird saying it, felt weirder paying for the domain with my name on it. They don’t even know the steal they’re giving me, selling that name on the cheap. But you, dear reader, you know. Or, you soon will.
As those of you who come this way from Royal Road or Substack know, I am an author of short and long form speculative/genre fiction. With a focus on general dark fiction, including dark fantasy, science fiction, horror, and weird fiction. Until this point, you have seen the rough output of short stories and serials that define my presence on those apps. Here I want to devote the space to professional material, not just stories, but art worthy of the name.
Signing up for alerts will ensure you get the latest updates on current and upcoming projects, and since this is a space I own, there’s no question as to where I will be tomorrow and the next day, and the day after that.
I have a bevy of projects in the works that I’m excited to share with you: What the Road Remembers and Of Machines and Men, two post-apocalyptic tales at opposite ends of the personal to epic scale. Ridding the Sling and We Were Kids, science fiction novels set in the same world as my debut. Who Dreams the Dreamer, an urban fantasy about a daughter and her estranged father, both of whom happen to be Witchfinders. And A Crown of Bone and a Crown of Bronze, a dark fantasy epic in the vein of ASoIaF or the Witcher.
These are fully penned, and while at different stages in the revision process, they are close to finished. Now, I have no intention of waiting on the traditional publishing industry, renowned for its glacial speediness, to take note of my work. So I’m going directly to the customer. Directly to YOU.
In that spirit, I want to highlight a few projects that will reach the finishing line this year and early next year: When the Abyss Stared Back (currently in final revisions with an expected early 2027 release, with a planned Kickstarter in November), the post-apocalyptic thriller The Power of God (currently on its third round of edits and likely set for a 2027 release), and the upcoming horror anthology Who’s Afraid of the Dark? (slated for an October 2026 release). While far from finished, I also wanted to highlight the weird fiction antediluvian epic Forgotten Gods, with the first draft nearly completed as of writing.
If you want to be updated on these projects and more, including when these titles go up for sale, please sign up. You won’t regret it.
